Welcome to Macdonald Excavating
Macdonald Excavating operates one of the only 30-RB draglines still operating in New Zealand. With a reach of up to 30 metres, the dragline is the perfect piece of machinery for pile driving, clearing out sludge ponds and creeks or rivers and general crane work.
Along with the dragline, Macdonald Excavating have a range of other equipment including a hydraulic excavator, roller, grader and bottom dumper truck. With a crusher and screening plant, gravel is available in a variety of sizes for different uses such as landscaping, drainage and roading.
Established in 1965 by Jack Macdonald, Macdonald Excavating in Mossburn is now owned and operated by Jack's son Alister (aka Ali Dig).
